Fall 09 Book Fair- Hooked on Books, Not on Drugs!
The week of Oct 26th- Oct 30th, Wilmer Elementary School hosted their annual fall book fair. This year the book fair coincided with Red Ribbon Week! Teachers participated in a door decorating contest. Each class had to choose a book and tie it into a drug free theme! Several family events were also enjoyed during the book fair. On Tuesday, dads showed their love of reading by coming to the special "Doughnuts for Dad" event at the book fair. On Wednesday it was mom's turn. Moms visited for "Muffins with Mom" at the book fair. On Thursday, grandparents were able to share the love of reading at "Goodies with Grandparents". The special family events were made possible by donations from kindergarten teacher, Leslie Edwards, Wilmer Elementary PTO, Winn-Dixie in Semmes, Brandi Harmon (parent), Angela Smith (parent), Sherry Everett (paraprofessional) and Harvest Nursery.
